What can I expect in a session?
Participants will meet our heard of horses and chose a horse partner to work with
each week. While working toward their therapeutic goals, clients will learn how to
build a trusting relationship with partner selected horse they have chosen and
gain skills in horsemanship such as: leading, grooming, and general care of
horses, understanding horse herd behavior, and learning how to read and
respond to horse body language.
*Please Note: We do not ride in our therapy sessions.
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy Session - $165
Equine Assisted Learning Session - $120
Office-based psychotherapy - $120
Riding lesson - $75
Natural horsemanship lesson - $75
These rates are per hour
What type of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, check, HSA cards, and credit cards.
Do you take insurance?
No. We are considered an out-of-network provider.
We can provide you with the necessary
paperwork for reimbursement by your insurance company.
Am I ( or my child/family) a good fit for this type of service?
Our Services Support People Coping With Challenges Such As:
Personal, relationship, or parenting problems
Medical Trauma ( i.e., Cancer, multiple surgeries)
Grief and loss
We work with clients ages six and up.
What if I don't have horse experience?
No problem! Our sessions are conducted on the ground, and
no previous horse experience is necessary.
What if I need to cancel an appointment?
If an appointment is missed with less than 24-hour notice, you will be billed the full fee. Cancellation/rescheduling messages may be left on our confidential voicemail or emailed.
If sessions are held outside, what happens during bad weather?
If there is inclement weather during your session time we will move
your session to a telehealth session.
We will cancel due to weather if:
The weather is below 40 degrees
The weather is above 110 degrees
Perception - if it's raining during your session time or the forecast
is predicting (60% or higher ) rain, thunder, or lightning during your session
If a session is canceled due to weather, you will
not be billed for the session.
*We will let you know about weather cancellations as soon as possible,
usually within 2 hours of your session.
What should I wear?
Our counseling sessions are conducted outside, so you must dress appropriately:
closed-toed shoes or boots, no sandals, dressing in
layers, gloves, and a hat in colder weather temps. You will need items
such as cool clothing, a hat, sunblock, and water in the summer.
